I wanted to go over my time on "The Healthy Way Vibes" talk show last Thursday. Due to previous plans, I could not make time to watch the recording. That is until now as I write this blog post. There is much to improve thinking back on it. So I wanted to write down the things that I might have glossed over or just wanted to clarify.
One of the few things that stand out is: completing the thoughts as clearly as I would like, using the break "um" quite often and the nervousness that I was feeling throughout the entire thing. As someone that struggles to stop my thoughts from swirling around my head, I break off into different topics in conversations. There were a couple of things that I would have liked to focus on. Explaining more of the benefits of meditation and breathing exercises through scientific research would have been more helpful for others. If I had tried to come in with one or two research papers I might have helped others understand a bit more. Though it could have also looked like someone regurgitating information rather than knowing it.
Two of the people that I had mentioned were Wim Hof and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. These two had shown first introduced breathing exercises and meditation respectively. I have not met these two men, but they have changed my view of the world nonetheless. At the end of this post, I will put links by both men explaining their ideas. I hope this will further interest you and put you on the path to start both practices. While I could try to explain it would not do their ideas justice. The first link will be a guided breathing practice by Wim Hof from his Youtube channel. The second link will be how meditation could be studied through scientific methods. Overall, there are a few things that I would have wished to change from my own view. But we cannot change the past. I just hope that anyone that listens to the recording or might read this will look for more information on these practices. Even if it is only one person.
Finally, I would like to thank the "Healthy Way Vibes" team. It is not often that I get a different platform to explain my thoughts and what I do. From just the short time we talked, I came to understand your passion for healthier living. Hearing your stories and seeing some similarities with my own was illuminating. John Leung, Fatima Sumar, Frederic Gagne and Saireen Neilson were patient enough to help guide my thoughts. What you might not have seen was how much sweat was building up. It was a nerve-racking 30-minutes for me to go through. Even more so than any of the competitions I was in.
