This upcoming Thursday the 19th of August, I will be appearing on a podcast called "The Healthy Way Vibes." The podcast was started by four friends: John Leung, Fatima Sumar, Frederic Gagne and Saireen Neilson, to share the interests of creating healthier life choices. Their experiences may have been widely different but their interests in health made them create a podcast to share their knowledge and that of their guests with everyone.
I learned about this podcast a couple of months back. John Leung's children were students of mine learning Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing for a number of months. Through passing, he and I maintained contact talking about our lives and health journeys. We have had more conversations on different topics and he had mentioned the "Healthy Way Vibes" podcast that he was appearing on. The first live show I saw was with Emily Kwok. She is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu blackbelt (one of the first women in Canada to receive this) and entrepreneur. Being an instructor myself, I enjoyed her view on training others and hearing her story.
It was only a few weeks back that John had approached me to be a guest on the podcast as well. The "Stretching & Recovery" program that I have been teaching for the past half a year interested him. The breathing exercises and meditation practice that I add to the program will be the main topic of discussion. Since the start of my program, I have always believed that meditation will help others through their daily lives. By taking time to look within yourself a new appreciation for life builds within you. The breathing exercises help keep you in the present moment and teach you a new avenue to focus. All this works together to give you a time of reflection and gratitude that might be missing from your daily routine. This is why I started on the path of meditation and breathing. And I share it with as many people as I can.
This upcoming Thursday, August 19th at 11:00 AM (UTC -7), I will be talking more in-depth about the practice of breathing and meditation. I hope to give the viewers a bit more clarity on the practice of meditation, dispel some misconceptions about it and hopefully guide others to start the practices. Below I will put the link to the "Healthy Way Vibes" website and Facebook page. If you would like to watch this live the Facebook page will be the easiest way.
